My Computer
As some of you may know, my Dell Latitude C600 Laptop HATES me. I had to replace the HD in august, and the power cord in september. Today, I turned my computer on only to discover that it wouldn't (turn on). So I called my dad and asked him what was wrong with it and he told me that my HD was probably fried or something was up with the motherboard. Cue me crying because all of my STUDIO PICTURES and YEARBOOK LAYOUTS are on the computer. So I got off the phone and contemplated what to do. I called 1-800-WWW-DELL. I ACTUALLY got someone helpful. He's in the call center in Edmonton. He walked me through a process involving a boot cd and he made it work!!! He warned me though that the hd was probably on the fritz and that I should back everything up. So I got off the phone and uploaded ALL my pictures onto My Space. I'm trying to email myself all my files.
I called my dad back, and he told me I should look into buying a new computer. But a desktop this time. I've been wanting a desktop for a while. And so. I did. And I cleared it with him and he BOUGHT IT FOR ME. HE BOUGHT ME A NEW COMPUTER. It's a Dell (don't look at me like that) Dimension 3100. *excited jumping* I'm very excited. Also. It comes with a DVD and CD burner. And XP (I have 2000... I like the superficial appeal of XP), and fun stuff like that. Yay!
It should arrive in 2 weeks.
I can't wait. I hope my laptop holds out till then. Maybe I should leave it on all the time so i don't have to risk it not rebooting...?
