Weekend from hell
Friday: Masterclass: Almost all the words to Madchenlied left me. And then Patrick nicely told me that he, too used to have a contrived sound. (this made me very mad)
Soph Carousel: AMAZING! So much fun! My small group (Walk and Turn) consisted of people I knew really well. Except for one girl. So I got to do role play twice, which was fantabulous.
Saturday: NATS: My body woke me up at 8:30 because I was so worried about the words to Madchenlied. So I went to practice. A LOT. And I got the words down, which was encouraging. I get there, and I went to see most of the people in my studio sing. After the second years, I go out into the lobby and Patrick asks me what time i'm singing, and I really didn't want him to come, cause of course, he would tell me after what I could have done better, etc. So I evade it a few times and say later. Then Jennifer comes and asks what time I'm singing and I say two, and Patrick is like, why didn't you tell me? So I tell him I'm mad at him and he should know why. So I head out to the stairs where I see Erin, and then Patrick comes and corners me while I'm talking to Erin. So I tell him that I can't believe he told me I had a contrived sound and etc. And he's like, well, we're supposed to give you feedback, that's what masterclass is about! And I'm like, you think you know everything, and you really don't. And then I left. And felt so much better!! *whew*
So my adjudicators were Ted Baerg, Gwen Little and some guy from Toronto. They were so funny! And I sang Le Secret, Madchenlied, and When You Are Old. They're getting there. They could have been better prepared. Especially the German. And I only forgot like 1.5 lines in the 3rd verse, which was a definite improvement on masterclass the day before.
OH! Congratulations to Jen Pyra, who won her class!!!!
(Also my studio raked them in ;)) Willis and Erin won the 4th year classes, Meghan won 3rd yr ladies, Arthur won 2nd year guys. That's all I can remember. Everyone sang really well!
Sunday: I have my interview at 6 tonight. I have 2 minutes at the beginning of the interview to make an impression on Greg and Nancy (and whoever else is there), and I have no idea what I'm gonna do. Suggestions appreciated (pulls collar).
